Effects of the Supplementation of Yeast, Molasses and Barley to Barley Straw Diets on the Intake, Digestibility and Ruminal Fermentation in Sheep
نویسندگان
چکیده
Supplementation increased the total dry matter intake by 18.2-36.8 %. Supplements given alone or in combination had no effect on dry matter and organic matter digestibility of the diet. Crude protein digestibility was decreased with molasses supplementation. Crude fiber digestibility was not affected by baker’s yeast supplementation but decreased with other supplements. The digestibility of nitrogen free extract was increased with carbohydrate supplementation.

Effects of fiber source on apparent digestibility and ruminal fermentation parameters in sheep fed high-concentrate diets
Sixteen rams (mean age: 13 mo; mean live weight: 40.0 ± 2.4 kg) were randomly allotted to four dietary treatments in a completely randomized design (4 rams per treatment). Diets (dry matter basis) contained 65% concentrate and 35% alfalfa hay (control diet, T1), 35% wheat straw (T2), 35% barley straw (T3) or 35% maize straw (T4). Total-tract apparent digestibility for dry matter, organic matter...

The effects of feeding Atriplex halimus treated with three developed enzyme cocktails to Barki sheep on feed intake, nutrient digestibility, N utilization, and ruminal fermentation were assessed. A. halimus was ensiled with two developed enzyme cocktails of ZAD1® (Z1) and/or ZAD2® (Z2) as liquid enzyme preparations (2 l/t) with 5% molasses and ensiled for 30 days. Three Barki rams (45 ± 3.2 kg)...

متن کاملEffects of Physical Form of Barley Straw and Urea Supplementation on Intake and Digestion of Sheep Kept Under High Ambient Temperature
This research was designed to examine the effect of both physical form of the roughage (chaff or ground/pelleted) and or urea supplementation on intake, and digestion by sheep fed barley straw housed at high ambient temperature (40C). The experimental design was factorial 2 x 2 x 4. Sixteen Merino sheep, weighing 26.3 ± 2.1 (SE) kg were randomized into four groups (n=4). Each group was fed one ...

This experiment was conducted to determine the possibility of replacing part of the barley grain by hydroponic barley fodder (HBF), and evaluating its effect on digestibility, rumen parameters, microbial protein synthesis and blood parameters in sheep. Four male Kermani sheep, 18-month-old (34.7 ± 1 kg live weight) were randomly assigned to a change over 4 × 4 design and fed the experimental di...
